About The Role
G2 is looking for a Senior SEO Specialist. As part of our world-class SEO team, your goal is to grow measurable traffic, citations, and conversions on our marketplace and other sites. This is a senior, in-house role where you’ll work across a broad range of SEO and AEO disciplines, from technical optimization and schema to keyword strategy, citations, and experimentation.
This role requires a good technical understanding of the way search engines crawl, index, render, and rank websites. You should also bring good project management and communication skills to be successful.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, learn how to navigate a fast-growing startup environment, and be part of a mighty team. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Content, and Analytics to turn SEO opportunities into shipped, measurable impact.
This position is based in Bengaluru and requires in-office attendance for 2 days in a week.
In This Role, You Will:
- Support the SEO team in developing and executing high-impact, resource-intensive initiatives for our marketplace
- Support G2 localization and drive increased global website traffic
- Own the keyword strategy and content optimization on learn.g2.com and www.g2.com.
- Increase organic and LLM-driven traffic through continuous optimization and experimentation
- Perform comprehensive keyword research and develop detailed keyword/prompt mapping strategies
- Lead competitive SEO and AEO analysis to benchmark performance and identify opportunities for growth
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams, serving as the primary SEO point of contact, and implement technical SEO and AEO recommendations at scale
- Optimize internal linking structures, on-page content, and site speed for improved rankings and UX
- Develop deep expertise in Technical SEO and AEO and serve as a trusted SME for the team
- Mentor and coach Jr. and SEO Specialists through guidance, reviews, and shared learning

- Research and analysis to identify opportunities and inform decisions
- Building clear SEO/AEO cases grounded in data, context, and logic
- Translating ideas into well-defined implementation requirements
- Collaborating closely with partners through sprint planning, execution, and reviews
- Measuring performance, sharing outcomes, and iterating based on results

How You’ll Spend Time
In this role, your time will be split across systems ownership, experimentation, and cross-functional execution. While priorities may shift based on business needs, your focus will broadly include:
- Search infrastructure and crawl systems (20%): You’ll own and lead initiatives that strengthen the technical foundation of G2’s discoverability. This includes technical audits, crawl and index health, and structural improvements that enhance how search engines interpret and rank G2.
- AEO, entity & answer systems (20%): You’ll help shape G2’s visibility across AI-driven and answer-based search experiences. You’ll partner cross-functionally to diagnose performance shifts and improve our presence across emerging search and LLM ecosystems.
- On-page SEO systems & templates (20%): You’ll lead scalable improvements across key page types to improve rankings, topical authority, and search performance. You’ll also collaborate with Content, Product, and Engineering to ensure templates and modules deliver measurable impact.
- Strategy and experimentation (20%): You’ll model search opportunity, run SEO/AEO experiments, analyze performance shifts, and translate insights into actionable roadmap recommendations.
- Global SEO (10%): You’ll support localization efforts and identify opportunities to grow traffic across international markets.
- Mentorship and technical SME (10%): As a senior member of the team, you’ll mentor junior team members, review work, establish standards, and serve as a trusted technical voice across teams. You’ll help raise the quality bar for execution and thinking across the SEO function.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bring 5+ years of proven SEO experience with a strong track record of delivering measurable results
- Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth SEO data analysis using Excel and related tools to uncover insights and drive strategy
- Possess a strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an SEO perspective
- Deep proficiency with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Profound, and STAT to monitor performance and guide decision-making
- Strong technical SEO expertise, including experience auditing enterprise-scale websites and translating findings into actionable recommendations for site improvements.
- Working expertise in structured data implementation (schema markup) and its impact on search engine visibility
- Ability to manage multiple SEO/AEO projects at once while keeping priorities aligned to business impact.
- Experience working cross-functionally to advocate for SEO and AEO best practices across the organization
- Strong communicator who can break down complex SEO/AEO insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Possess a strong personal brand and active presence in the SEO community, staying updated on trends and best practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with large-scale marketplaces or SaaS platforms
- Experience with hreflang and international SEO fundamentals
- Exposure to AEO, LLM-driven search, or citations optimization
- Familiarity with log file analysis and crawl budget optimization in large-scale sites
- Experience running or partnering on A/B testing initiatives for SEO, content, or on-page optimization
- Experience managing large-scale taxonomy, faceted navigation, or programmatic SEO architectures
- Engagement with the SEO community (experimentation, writing, speaking)
