What we're looking for
Hanomi builds software that automatically generates 2D engineering drawings from 3D CAD models. We've raised venture funding, have paying manufacturing customers across India and internationally, and just shipped drawing automation to production. We're a team of 8 engineers moving fast toward scaling this to thousands of drawings per day. You'll work on real parts that go to real factory floors - where a wrong dimension means a scrapped part and a missed shipment. It's demanding work with real accountability, but if you're the kind of person who gets fired up by solving hard problems across multiple technical domains and seeing a team ship consistently, you'll fit right in.
We're looking for a person to lead engineering execution. This role is on-site at our Bengaluru office.
You'll work directly with our CTO to turn product priorities into shipped software. This isn't a management-from-a-distance role - you'll plan sprints and hold people accountable, but you'll also roll up your sleeves to debug, brainstorm algorithmic approaches, and review PRs with enough depth to catch when something doesn't fit.
Engineering Lead:
In this role, you will:
Own engineering execution across the team:
· Plan sprints, set timelines, track progress, and hold people accountable
· Run gate reviews before production deploys and flag risks before they become misses
· Coordinate between our algo team and platform team
· Be the person who makes sure things ship by being close enough to the work to know when something's going wrong
Roll up your sleeves and build alongside the team:
· Debug production issues together with engineers, not delegate and wait
· Brainstorm algorithmic approaches and review PRs deeply enough to catch integration issues
· Jump into the codebase when something's blocked, you're not above writing code to unblock a sprint
Bring technical depth across algorithms and platform:
· Understand mechanical engineering concepts well enough to question whether an approach makes sense for different manufacturing processes
· Have experience scaling platforms - deployment pipelines, reliability, monitoring, the infrastructure that keeps a product running for paying customers
· Ideally have worked on desktop applications or integrations with CAD software APIs
Make the team better over time:
· Give direct, specific feedback - including the uncomfortable kind
· Know when an engineer needs clearer specs vs more autonomy vs a push
· Identify process gaps and fix them without adding bureaucracy
Note given that we are a startup, the exact job match will depend on your skills and interest (there is always too much to do!).
Requirements:
· 5-7 years in software engineering, with experience leading teams of 5–10 engineers
· Strong Python - comfortable reading and contributing to algorithm code
· Experience scaling platforms that serve real customers with reliability requirements
· Exposure to mechanical engineering or CAD/PLM domains - you don't need to be a mech engineer, but you should understand what an engineering drawing represents and why correctness matters
· Desktop application development or API integrations with CAD software is a strong plus
· You still enjoy building - this is a hands-on leadership role where you're expected to contribute technically
· Startup experience preferred - you know the difference between useful process and process theater
Preferred Qualifications:
· Background in 3D / manufacturing
· Experience with computational geometry / 3D modelling workflows
· You've managed engineers who are deep specialists and earned their respect through technical credibility, not just title
· You use AI tools in your daily workflow - Claude Code, Cursor

We're looking for a Design Engineer who understands the world of CAD and engineering software, someone who can translate complex mechanical engineering workflows into intuitive, powerful interfaces that feel native to the engineers who use them.
This is not about disrupting how engineers work, it's about amplifying them. You'll design desktop applications and web platforms that mechanical engineers recognize and trust, drawing inspiration from tools like SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion, CATIA, and ANSYS. You'll work directly with our CEO and CTO, collaborating daily with mechanical engineers to craft experiences that feel intuitive from day one.
You'll own the end-to-end design experience: from user research and interaction design to visual design and branding. You'll help define and evolve Hanomi's design language where CAD wireframes meet abstract art, technical precision meets creative possibility, and every element asks:Does this show mastery? Does this inspire innovation? Does an engineer see themselves here?
Responsibilities
Product Design
• Design and iterate on our desktop application and web platform, creating interfaces that
mechanical engineers find intuitive and powerful
• Study and internalize the UX patterns of established CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360,
CATIA, NX, ANSYS) to create familiar, frictionless workflows
• Own the complete design process from user research and wireframing through high-fidelity
prototypes and production-ready specifications
• Conduct user research with mechanical engineers to deeply understand their workflows,
pain points, and mental models
• Create interaction patterns for complex CAD operations: file handling, assembly navigation,
tolerance specification, drawing generation, and manufacturing context input
Brand & Visual Design
• Evolve and maintain Hanomi's visual identity across all touchpoints product, marketing,
sales materials, and documentation
• Translate our design language (orange-driven, CAD wireframes meeting abstract art,
technical precision meeting creative possibility) into cohesive visual experiences
• Create visual assets that resonate with engineering audiences where every element
communicates mastery and inspires innovation
Collaboration
• Work directly with the CEO and CTO on product vision and strategy
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers on the team to ensure designs respect and
enhance engineering workflows
• Partner with engineering to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity and technical
feasibility
• Contribute to defining product requirements and prioritization based on user insight
Requirements
Experience
• 4–6 years of experience in product design, UX design, or design engineering
• Previous work at CAD, PLM, simulation, or engineering software companies (e.g., Autodesk,Dassault Systèmes, Siemens, PTC, ANSYS, Altair, or similar)
• Proven experience designing desktop applications understanding the unique patterns and
constraints of native app design vs. web
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of design projects, from research
through shipped product
Skills
• Deep understanding of engineering workflows and the mental models of mechanical
engineers, manufacturing engineers, or designers
• Mastery of design tools: Figma for UI/UX design; familiarity with prototyping tools
• Experience with design systems building and maintaining component libraries that scale
• Strong visual design skills with attention to typography, color, spacing, and hierarchy
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Mindset
• Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities
• Genuine curiosity about manufacturing, engineering, and how physical products are
designed and made
• Willing to relocate to Bangalore and work in-person with the team
Preferred (Bonus)
• Front-end development skills (React, TypeScript, Electron, or similar)—ability to prototype or
implement your own designs
• Experience with 3D visualization, WebGL, or rendering technologies
• Background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or related technical field
• Experience designing for GD&T, tolerancing, or technical drawing workflows
• Prior startup experience or founding experience

About the company
finban gives small and mid-sized companies a clear view of their financial future. The platform connects bank accounts (PSD2), accounting systems such as DATEV, Lexware Office and sevdesk, payment providers like Stripe and PayPal, CRM systems and spreadsheets — and consolidates them into a single, always-current liquidity plan.
What sets finban apart is how it handles data. Instead of forcing one source of truth, actuals from the bank, open receivables and payables from accounting, and forward-looking budget assumptions coexist side by side. As real payments come in, they replace the plan automatically. The result is a forecast that stays accurate without manual maintenance.
Built in Germany, finban today serves primarily the DACH market — with an integration and banking layer designed to extend across Europe and beyond. It's made for companies of up to around 100 employees: teams that need serious financial visibility but don't have a dedicated treasury department to produce it.
