About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Network & Network Security Engineer with Team Management responsibilities to lead the design, delivery, and support of secure network solutions for enterprise and mid-market customers.
As part of an IT System Integration company, this role combines deep technical expertise, team leadership, and customer-facing project delivery. You will act as a technical authority, mentor a team of engineers, and ensure high-quality implementation and support of complex network and security environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership (L3)
- Act as the L3 escalation point for complex network and security incidents.
- Design, validate, and implement enterprise network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center).
- Lead technical design workshops and solution reviews with customers.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across routing, switching, and security domains.
- Review and approve high-risk configuration changes and deployments.
- Define technical standards, best practices, and reference architectures.
Network Engineering
- Design and support routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP).
- Deliver WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, and internet connectivity solutions.
- Support network migrations, refresh projects, and infrastructure transformations.
- Produce high-quality design documents (HLD/LLD), implementation plans, and as-built documentation.
Network Security Engineering
- Design and implement secure network solutions including NGFWs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and NAC.
- Define and enforce segmentation, access control, and zero-trust security models.
- Implement and manage firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, Check Point).
- Support compliance-driven customer requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, etc.).
- Work closely with SOC and security teams on incident response and remediation.
Team Management & Mentorship
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of L1/L2/L3 network and security engineers.
- Assign workload, manage escalations, and ensure SLA adherence.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and technical skill development.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and technical training plans.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Project & Customer Engagement
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers.
- Collaborate with pre-sales teams on solution design, effort estimation, and technical validation.
- Support Proof Concepts (PoCs) and customer demonstrations.
- Ensure successful project delivery aligned with scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Participate in change management, maintenance windows, and on-call rotations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security.
- Strong hands-on experience in L3 routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Proven experience leading or managing technical teams.
- Background working in an IT System Integrator, MSP, or project-based environment.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across OSI Layers 1–7.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP / CCIE / PCNSE / NSE / Check Point CCSA/CCSE or equivalent.
- Experience with SD-WAN and SASE solutions.
- Cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Automation and scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- ITIL or project management exposure is a plus.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6–10 years of hands-on experience in network operations or support.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Experience with Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto network devices.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, NAC, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Logic Monitor, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
